Description: Scherzer B-flat rotary valve trumpet. Purchased new 4 years ago when visiting Germany. Comes with 3 interchangeable leadpipes, numbered 2, 3, & 4. The differences between them are hard to see, but the playing differences are very noticeable! Number 2 gives the easiest playing and slightly easier high range. Number 4 gives a beautiful rounded tone, but takes a bit more air to play. Number 3 is in between, in ease of playing and tone. I usually play it with No. 3, finding it the best balance for me. A friend who plays part-time with Melbourne Symphony Orchestra has tried it and prefers the No. 4, because he is a strong player, and prefers the free-blowing feel of the No. 4. He plays a Bach 11/4C mouthpiece whereas I play a 2C. It comes as originally supplied in a very nice fitted case and a B&S 11/2C mouthpiece. It's condition is excellent except for a small blemish on the lacquer on the curved part of the bell section which I have photographed. Price (Australian) $2500, plus postage. (Approx. US$1875 plus postage) To buy contact: Paul Hanson hanson@sunet.com.au
